Mrs. Elizabeth James

Elizabeth James was born to Dorothy Briscoe and George A. Briscoe, Sr. On December 27, 1956. Elizabeth grew up with a loving spirit and limitless creative talent. She excelled through school and graduated from Sumner High School and attended UMKC. Elizabeth first met her husband, Anthony James Sr, in elementary. Over the years, they grew up and created an unbreakable bond facing every trial of life with the word of God for 48 years. Elizabeth and Anthony James have 3 children Dr. Elizabeth James, Gwynee James, and Anthony James Jr. Elizabeth spent her time using her many creative talents, studying the Bible, ministering to others and with her family. Elizabeth’s life mission became to ensure that all around her came to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. Elizabeth participated in door-to-door evangelism, Sunday school teaching, Bible studying and mentorship. Elizabeth never hesitated to share the message of Jesus with anyone from a random stranger, a nurse to other chemo patients. She would encourage anyone reading this to consider Jesus, by opening your heart and mind to the Bible. She would encourage you to put aside the things this world has told you about God and open the Bible yourself. He has told you everything you need to know to follow Him. Here are some steps to get you started: 1. Admit you are a sinner: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 2. Death is the penalty for sin: The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 3. God wants to save you: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:164. Just confess and believe: If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Romans 10:95. You can know that you’re saved: These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13 Elizabeth died on June 20, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital East. Funeral services Monday, July 1, 2024, 11am at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons. Visitation from 10am-11am at the chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, KCMO. Arrangements entrusted to Lawrence A.
