Ms. Danise Marie Bruce

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Danise Marie Bruce. Born on November 5, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Mary Rosalyn Smith and Charles Lee Smith, Danise was a shining example of faith, creativity, and love that knew no bounds. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970 and devoted her life to spreading warmth and kindness to everyone she met. Danise spent the majority of her career in the finance industry, where her sharp intellect and compassionate nature left a lasting mark. At US Bank, she was beloved by customers and colleagues alike for her radiant smile and her dedicated, caring approach. A committed Christian, Danise played many vital roles in her church community, serving as Youth Director, Usher, Choir Member, Board Member, and Office Administrator. During her time at Pentecostal COGIC, she created an uplifting newsletter, “Priceless Treasures,” which resonated deeply with many. Danise had an extraordinary talent for crafting, gardening, cooking, baking, making jewelry, and decorating. Her creative spirit was matched only by her generosity, as she often shared her talents with others. Above all, her family—her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—were her greatest treasure. She poured her heart into her family, whether through words of wisdom, home-cooked meals, or laughter. The love and values she instilled will continue to live on in them. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Rosalyn and Charles Lee Smith, Sr,; brother, Charles Lee Smith, Jr.; sons-in-love, Lanall Fisher, Sr. and Robert Reese; grandsons, Romell Fisher and Ronzell Johnson, Jr,; and nephew, Keith Green. Danise leaves behind a loving family to honor her memory: Her Children: Reginald Smith, Sr. (Chanel Smith), Rosalyn Smith/Fisher, Christopher Bruce, Christina Bruce, Mary Thompson (Brian Thompson), and Leslie Allen. Grandchildren: KeRon Bruce, Reion Smith, DaRon Killingsworth, RyJae Fisher, Robert Reese, JaVon Bruce, DaVell Budgets, Christopher Bruce, Jr., Reign Smith, RaShawn Fisher, Christinae Bruce, Alexander Reese, Reginald Smith Jr., Regnald Smith, Jordan Hamilton, and Jackson Hamilton. Great-grandchildren: Khalil Bruce, Khalia Bruce, Treyvin Bruce, Carter Fisher, Kemiyah Bruce, Rhyli Brielle Lewis, KaCen Bruce, and Harmoni Bruce. Sisters: Marjorie Green, Debra Nicholson, and Kimberly Dale. Brothers: Halim Gharmin and George Dale. A host of beloved nieces, nephews other relatives and friends who will forever hold her memory dear. Danise was the heart and soul of her family, a beacon of love and strength. Her legacy of faith, creativity, and kindness will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. One of her most treasured sayings, which will echo in our hearts forever, was simply, “Love you more!” A celebration of Danise’s life will be held on March 29, 2025, at her beloved church home, Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ, 11922 Food Lane, Grandview, MO 64030, where family and friends will gather to honor her beautiful spirit with a visitation beginning at 10:00am-11:00am at the church.
