Obituary Christopher Lawrence Burnett, Sr. was born May 4, 1987 to Kim and Carolyn Burnett and grew up in Olathe, KS. He attended school in the Olathe School District and Graduated from Olathe North High School -Class of 2005 . After high school he attended Highland Community College on a football scholarship. He currently was working on his teaching degree at JCCC where he made the Dean’s list last semester while working as a Para/educator at Olathe East High School. Chris loved football he played in FCCJC League from 2nd to 7th grade on the Olathe North Eagles Team with Coach Dave Svadja. Oregon Trail Jr High grades 8th and 9th. Olathe North High School grades 10th-12th and Freshman Year at Highland Community College. He also played semi-pro for the Midwest Titans for 6 years. Chris was a well-loved coach. He coached little league flag football, Middle school at Santa Fe, High School at Olathe Northwest and Olathe East . Chris loved his family, friends, players and the game of football. He had a desire to help young men or anyone in need of help. He would extend hisself to make sure they were taken care of. He used the game of football as a tool to mentor and shine light on the stresses and struggles that young black men faced in our community and have them a space to do something positive and grow. Being a part of a team enabled him to accomplish these goals and be an example to this current generation. Chris was preceded in death by his (Paternal Grandparents) Walter and Christine Burnett, Sr. Cousins/Brother Jurl Carter and J.C Michael Fuel. He is survived by his wife, Ashley , his 4 children LaDaya, LaKeisa, Jasmine, Chris Jr. (C.J. ). His Mother and Father, Kim and Carolyn Burnett, Sister Cierra Fuel, Brother Duncan l (Mandy), Nieces and nephews, Devion ,Kaliyah, Baby Jay and Aviel . Sharon Duncan (Favorite Aunt), The Henderson family, The Hamilton family, Godchildren and a hosts of relatives, friends and players. Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 27, 2021, 12:00pm at Faith Deliverance Family Worship Center COGIC. Private Disposition. Visitation will be from 10am-12pm at the church. A memorial will be held Monday, September 27th, at the Olathe East High School Field from 5pm-8pm. Service conducted by Lawrence A Jones Sons & Funeral Chapel.
