Ms. Cheryl Ann Hunter

Cheryl Ann Hunter was born on November 27, 1952 in Cottage Grove, Minnesota to Elton Klover and Marlys Ellsworth. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Anthur Hunter, brothers, Anthony, Michael and James Klover, sister, Judy Klover, two granddaughters, Myanna Henderson and Damari Green. Cheryl was educated in the Cottage Grove, Minnesota School District and was a graduate at Park Senior High School in the class of 1970. She received her LPN at Minneapolis Tech Vocational School in 1985. She relocated to the Kansas City area where she raised her five children. She attended Cleveland Avenue Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Price Ellis. She was presently a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. John Modest Miles. She enjoyed the services and made many friends. Over the years she enjoyed doing home improvements that she completed on her own which was very proud of. Cheryl spent much of her life loving and supporting her children. Her belief in having a strong family foundation is her biggest legacy. This love and support extended to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and anyone that was in her life. She made everyone feel welcomed. Cheryl was married to Anthur Hunter on August 15, 1981. She was employed at the University of Kansas Medical Center where she was employed from 1986-1994. She then worked for different nursing agencies and nursing homes. She spent some of her years as a big part of Nychole's Cleaning (family business). She also had a furry companion, Chocolate Hunter, that gave her lots of joy. Cheryl touched everyone she met with her big heart and real personality. She did not have a filter. She was welcoming and caring yet firm and strong. She was one in a million and unforgettable. Her statement, I KNOW I'M RIGHT, will forever bring a smile to all that loved and knew her. Cheryl's firm belief in God, through Jesus Christ, made her transition so calm and peaceful. She peacefully departed on January 12, 2024, at her home surrounded by her children. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Andre Hunter (Ciara), Anthur Hunter, Jr., Dawn Kopecky, Wendy Peterson, Nychole Hunter (Hikieme) and best friend, Sonya Nelson, siblings, Steve Levy (Deb), Shelly Tubbesing (Mike), Robert Levy, Linda Klover, Robert Klover (Rose), Dennis Klover, David Klover, Sandra Klover (Pam) and Jennifer Klover; grandchildren, Demond Reeves, Jr., Dai'ja Kopecky, Markus Henderson, E'monye Bennett, Dominic Hewitt, Dametrious Blewett, Demario Brown, Anthur Hunter III, Felix Contreras, Quincee Perry, Anissa Denniston, Amiya Hunter, Deontay Ray, Prince Hunter, Aspyn Hunter, Lola Nava, Cassidie Hunter and Karter Jones a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services Saturday, January 27, 2024, 11:00am at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Interment XII Gates Cemetery. Visitation 10:00am-11:00am at the church. Services conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
