Mr. Carl Bolden, Jr.

Carl Isaac Bolden was born on September 30, 1946 to Barbara Richardson in Kansas City, KS. His mother preceded him in death. Carl grew up in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Manual High School, Class of 1966. Carl was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. He worked for Praxair as a welder for over 28 years and retired in 2006. Carl was an avid bowler in many leagues and was able to obtain five 300 games. He enjoyed giving lessons and tips on bowling, but he was most proud of teaching his wife Michelle how to bowl. Carl was a humorous person who enjoyed having a good time. He was never late for work or any event, you could depend on him to show up anywhere from a half hour to one hour early. Carl loved to tease people and loved when they would tease him back. Carl was united in marriage to Michelle Allen on November 8, 1997 and have been married for twenty-six years. They enjoyed traveling together and took many trips driving long distances for cruises, bowling tournaments and other various destinations. He loved his family and leaves to cherish his loving memory; his wife, Michelle Bolden; four children, Damien Roath of Beaumont, TX, Byron (Kelly) Bolden of Lee’s Summit, MO, Arlesia Sanders of Kansas City, MO, and Sherece (Tellis) Bolton of Raymore, MO; eleven grandchildren; MeCenzie Wendt, Damien Roath Jr., Dakari Roath, Brynn Bolden, Brayden Bolden, Klara Bolden, De Andre (Amber) Holley, Brandon Azim, Taitum Bolton, Teigan Bolton, and Jaxyn Bolton. Carl was the eldest of three children. He is survived by his siblings Davida (Dennis) Johnson, Gary Bolden, and special Brother and Sister, David and Linda McKenzie. His Aunts; Verna Tyson and Alvanora Smith. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and dear friends. The family would especially like to thank VNA Hospice Care and their dedicated hospice nurses and staff, for the kindness, care and compassion they have shown Carl during his journey. Special thank you to the Second Missionary Baptist Church family for your support to our family during this time of bereavement. We appreciate and wish God’s blessings upon each of you Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, 11am at Second MBC 5111 Harry Truman Drive Grandview, MO 64030. Interment Leavenworth Nat'l Cemetery, LVNKS. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the church. Services conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons. Condolence may be shared on our website.
