With heavy hearts and deep love, we celebrate the life of Ashley Sumone Trotter, who departed this life on May 17, 2026, in Love County, Oklahoma. Ashley was born on October 2, 1988, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Steven Trotter and JoAnn Trotter-Harrison. She was preceded in death by her father, Steven Trotter; her paternal grandmother, Bernice Trotter; her maternal grandmother, Loretta West; and her maternal uncle, Samuel West. Ashley attended the Raytown, Missouri public schools and developed a lifelong love for learning and achievement. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Northwest Missouri State University and later received her Master of Science in Management with an emphasis in Information Technology and Project Management from Colorado Technical University. Ashley was employed by T-Mobile as a Project Manager, where she excelled professionally and took great pride in the work she accomplished. She was admired for her intelligence, leadership, dedication, and ability to connect with others in meaningful ways. At the age of five, Ashley was baptized and grew up as a devoted believer in Christ, attending non-denominational churches throughout her life. Ashley possessed a beautiful spirit that radiated warmth, compassion, and authenticity. She was exceptionally intelligent, creative, resourceful, and accepting of others. Her love for cooking, her vibrant personality, and her commitment to being true to herself left a lasting impact on everyone blessed to know her. Above all, Ashley deeply loved her daughters, Gabrielle “Gabby” Johnson and Brooklynne Tinsley. Gabby, her oldest daughter, and Brooklynne were the center of Ashley’s heart, and she poured endless love, care, and devotion into their lives. Ashley leaves to cherish her precious memory her beloved daughters, Gabrielle “Gabby” Johnson and Brooklynne Tinsley; her loving mother, JoAnn Trotter-Harrison and her husband, Veelewarance Harrison (“V”); her siblings, Tanisha Johnson-Mendoza and her husband Micheal “Mike” Mendoza, Steven Trotter and his wife Mandy Trotter, Andre Johnson, and Monique Hamilton; her chosen sister, Adiah Fauntleroy; her aunts, Sandra Trotter and Sandra West; her uncles, Joseph Johnson (Sheila) and Ronnie Trotter; her chosen family, David and Twyla Fauntleroy, who loved and supported Ashley throughout her life; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Though her time on earth was far too short, Ashley’s life was filled with purpose, love, wisdom, and grace. Her legacy will continue through the lives she touched, the love she shared, and the memories her family and friends will cherish forever. “Rest peacefully, Ashley. Your love remains with us still, and it always will.” Funeral Services will be held on Friday May 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Watkins Heritage Chapel 4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. KCMO 64130.
