Obituary ALICE JEWELL LINDMARK was born May 08, 1937, in the “Show Me” state Kansas City, Missouri to Mose McCoy and Elizabeth Cravens McCoy. She is preceded in death by father, Mose McCoy; mother, Elizabeth McCoy; son, James Whitney; daughters, Vanessa Whitney, Carolyn Banks; brother, James McCoy and grandson, Christopher Whitney. Alice was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri. She was supportive to worship wherever her children worshipped at. On August 20, 2014, the day her beloved husband, Gene Lindmark departed this earth, the plan of Salvation was presented to her, and she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior with tears streaming down her face and shouting aloud, please Lord, I don’t want to go too Hell, forgive me of all my wrongs and when it is my time to go, please let me into your Kingdom. She was affiliated with many churches, and she attended several different places with other beliefs. During her senior years, she found love again and accepted the proposal of marriage to Gene Lindmark, October 2012. Both were already retired at the time of them marrying so they spent quality time in the 2 years of their marriage travelling and enjoying the company of one another until his departure from this earth on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Mrs. Alice loved shopping, she loved arts, and crafts. She loved to sing, and she really loved to dance but her greatest highlight was spending quality time with family during the holidays. Mrs. Alice had many health challenges, but she was a great fighter, she did not let her conditions keep her down, she persevered through many of mistakes, sicknesses, hurts and pains. However, as the songwriter wrote “Troubles, heartaches, and pains will soon be over”. On Saturday, July 16, 2022, approximately at 10:00 am at CenterPoint Medical Center, all troubles, heartaches and pains are now over, she took her final breathe in this earth awaiting her placement in eternity. She leaves to cherish her loving presence here in this earth to her seven surviving children: daughters, Diane (Richard) Elliot of Independence, Missouri; Debra Whitney and her special friend, Larry Foster of Kansas City, Missouri; Valeorie Whitney Jones of Grain Valley, Missouri; Jacquelyn (Victor) Lindmark of Kansas City, Missouri; Barbara Adams of Gainesville, Florida; sons, Foster Jones and his fiancé, Elnora Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; and Keith (Shervette) Jones of North Kansas City, Missouri. She also leaves a very special friend, Marquita Bedford, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, other family and friends who were all dear to her heart. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022, 11:00am at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the chapel.
