Willie Hatton, 83, was born October 25, 1934 in Minter City, Mississippi to the union of John Hatton and Willie Mae Huff Hatton.
Willie transitioned from this life on Saturday, July 28, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Willie Mae Hatton and his wife, Phyllis.
He went to Sumner High School in Kansas City, Kansas.
Willie joined the National Guard, February 23, 1959. He worked for the Kansas City, Missouri School District as a Custodian at the downtown Library, he also worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for thirty-five years, retiring in 2000. Willie enjoyed watching movies, listening to music and walking his dogs, but most importantly, was his family—he loved spending time with his family.
Willie Hatton leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Willis Andre Hughes; his grandchildren, Olivia, Andre, Charlee, Aubreana and Andrea; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation Service for Willie Hatton will be held Thursday, August 9, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd.
