VEOTHA WILLIAMS

VEOTHA WILLIAMS 89, was born on August 22, 1929 in Boley, Okalahoma to Lee and Rose Wright. Veotha departed this life on July 5, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Rosie Wright.  Her husband Tyree Williams Sr., two sons, Tyree Jr., and Gary; two daughters Beverly and Rita; five brothers Kee Jr., Alonzo, Oatis, Edward, and Alvoy; five sisters, Elvessie, Letha Mae, Izola, Rosa Lee and Samatha.  She is the las of her siblings as her and her sister Izola would say, “the last of the Mohicans.” Veotha grew-up in Boley, where she graduated from Boley High School and moved to Kansas City and met the love of her life Tyree.  They were married and to this union nine children were adorned.  She worked for over 30 years at Menorah Medical Center where she retired.  She loved traveling, gardening, and cooking.  She was the best cook ever, and always made everything from scratch. She even made the best homemade ice cream along with the best, German Chocolate Cake, Pound Cake and Peach Cobbler; all from scratch, and totally delicious.  Everyone loved her cooking.  It was because she loved her family so much, you didn’t know her brothers and sisters from her in-laws, that’s just how close they were.  Veotha is survived by four son’s Willie (Nevada), Stevie, Marvin Tony (Sharon) and Nathan; one daughter, Vickie Williams; grandchildren, Jon, Tyree J., Tywania, Andre’, Brandon (April) Jeris, Shavon’, Gerald (Paula), Tamaro (Antwain), Syretta (Aubrey), Tiffany (Ronnell) Stevie D. Haley, Garrison, Shonda and Rita Ann; twenty-two great-grandchildren; 3 brother-in-law’s, Buford , John T. (Mary) and David Jr. (Veola); three sister-in-law’s, Helen Adams, Bertha Williams and Gladys Henderson.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at St. Peter CME Church 1419 North 8th Street Kansas City, Kansas 66101.  Visitation 9:00a.m.  Interment Forest Hill Cemetery.
