VIOLA MAE BRAY

Viola Mae Bray was born on November 9, 1923 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Dovie Fields.  Viola had four sisters and one brother: Juanita Prater, Romona Gale, Odella, Charlene Fields and Calvin Prince.  Viola Mae Bray departed from her earthly life on Thursday, September 24, 2019. In 1945, Viola married Lee Walter Bray Sr. and to this union 9 children were born: Charles, Lee Jr., Frederick, Shirley, Jimmy, Wanda, Edwin, Judy and Vincent and 28 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. In 1961, Viola moved to Kansas City. Through hard work she bought a house at 3943 Spruce Avenue and later moved to Niagara Falls, New York. It was here where she bought another house, and this is where she passed-away.

Viola Bray, “My Mother” was and still is a Christian woman.  She woke-up every morning reading her bible and praying for her children, grand children and herself.  She was faithful to God; she continued to pray for God to lead and guide her and in the early 1970’s, He led her to attend Faith Mission Church in Kansas City, Missouri where she served under the leadership of the late Reverend Hubert Lambert. Faithfully, she served until she was no longer able.  As time moved on, she remained faithful to God and decided to relocate to Niagara Falls, New York.  She gathered a few of her children and grandchildren and collectively, they relocated.  Viola was preceded in death by siblings: Calvin Prince, Juanita Prater, Romona Gale, Charlene Fields and one child Jimmy.  The precious memory of Viola Mae Bray will be forever cherished by her children: Charles of Pittsburgh PA, Lee and Judy Styles of Kansas City, Missouri, Vincent Bray of Minnesota, Frederick, Shirley, Wanda and Edwin all of Niagara Falls, NY.
