Vinson E. Davis Jr., “Big Hurt” passed away at home on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the age of 34. Vinson was born on October 26, 1984 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lisa Neal and Vinson E. Davis Sr. Vinson attended schools in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and in 2003, he received his GED from the Excelsior Springs Job Corp Program.
Vinson was employed at KU Hospital (University of Kansas) where his responsibilities varied. While working at KU Hospital, he met Jessica and later they were married. Completing this union was Donnie, whom he loved more than life itself. Vinson enjoyed playing basketball and spending time with Donnie.
To see Vinson, you wouldn’t think he was so quiet and gentle; but, to know him you would understand it was nothing but pure love.
Vinson was my (Lisa’s) gentle giant. He was respectful and hardworking and wouldn’t hesitate to do anything, for anybody who asked. Vinson was known for his caring spirit and that voice which was so low, and deep. Often, people had to ask him to repeat himself, so they could understand what he was saying. However, what was never misunderstood was the Love Vinson had for his family and close friends.
Vinson will forever be cherished by his wife Jessica; son Donavan; parents Lisa Neal and Vinson E. Davis Sr.; brothers Brandon Cox of California, Antonio Davis of Nevada and Ahmed Davis of Missouri.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Watkins Heritage Chapel 4000 Emanuel Cleaver Blvd. KCMO, 64130. Visitation 9:00 a.m. Interment Brooking Cemetery.
