Tenicia R. Payne was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 28, 1981 to Rochelle J. Payne and Ronald L. Reed. She was preceded in death by her father Ronald L. Reed, both grandparents Betty J. Gibson, Montaque Payne and her uncle Darrel Gibson. In June 2002, Tenicia graduated from Dale M. Thompson Trails West State School where she participated in several day programs, one being the T-ball team for 5 years. She was a member of Harvest Church International Outreach where she enjoyed serving as a greeter. Tenicia brightened the lives of others with her smile and laughter. She had a kind, gentle spirit; she was laid back and reserved. She loved listening to Christian music, getting dressed up, going to the beauty salon and being pampered. Tenicia was a world traveler in her own right! She enjoyed taking trips with her mother and grandmother. She’s flown, taken numerous cruises and road trips as well as attended several family reunions. Tenicia was also a connoisseur of good homestyle cooking and could be counted on for an honest reaction to your dish. Most of all Tenicia loved her mother! When her mom came in the room, she would perk up the moment she heard her voice. She enjoyed their quiet times outside while taking in the fresh air and sunshine. Tenicia attended White Oaks group home under the leadership of Center Developmentally Disabled (CDD) from February 2006 until her passing. Tenicia loved being involved in fun activities at home as well as in the community. She participated in the: Scavenger Hunt, KC Zoo, Bowling, Powell Gardens, KC Symphony, Nutcracker, Chiefs and Kansas City Royals games and the Red-Carpet event through CDD. Tenicia leaves to cherish her memory (her mother) Rochelle J. Payne, (cousin) Keyshawn Gibson, uncles, aunts and a host of cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Harvest Church 4300 North Corrington Avenue Kansas City, Missouri. 64117. No visitation. Interment Highland Park Cemetery.
