Sybil Belgrave was born on April 20, 1924 in Trinidad, West Indies to Norman Sheppard and Philomen Assevero. She was the eldest of six children to whom both parents, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death. On September 27, 1942, Sybil was married to William Belgrave who also preceded her in death. To their union five children were born. In May of 1968, Sybil was fortunate to leave her home in Trinidad and come to American to make a better life for herself and her children. For many years, she worked as a private Domestic Care Assistant and from that position she worked for Menorah Medical Center in dietary. On August 17, 2008, Sybil became a member of Evangelist Temple Christ Unlimited Church Of God In Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Carl Landram, Sr., in Kansas City, Missouri. She worked diligently in the church and served on the Pastor Aide Board and Mother’s Board. Anyone who knew her, would agree that she was a giving person, one with a quick wit, and very outspoken. She did not hold anything back that she wanted to say, and Sybil was like this until the end. Also, all her life she was a seamstress and down through the years she made many wedding dresses. Sewing and cooking were her passions. She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Jacqueline Belgrave, Elizabeth Belgrave, Beverly Belgrave all of Kansas City, Missouri, Marlene Lewis of Brooklyn, New York and Diane Belgrave of Trinidad, West Indies; thirteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family, relatives, friends and church family. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Linwood Chapel in Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation 10:00 a.m. Interment in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
