Sharon Granger, 60 of Overland Park, Kansas departed this life May 5, 2019 at home. She was born November 24, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri to Ophelia Granger and Willie Cole.
Sharon loved spending time family and friends. Sharon also enjoyed traveling, cooking, dancing, movies, making jewelry, arts, crafts, shopping, decorating and restoring antique furniture.
Sharon went to Central High School. After high school attended Penn Valley Community College where she received an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development.
After college, Sharon worked as an early childhood development teacher.
Sharon also worked as a substance abuse counselor.
Sharon also was an entrepreneur owning a boutique, Facing Beauty, featuring jewelry, accessories, and makeup.
Sharon was a cast member of Discovery Life’s New Girls on The Block.
She was preceded in death by her mother (Ophelia Granger), father (Wille Cole), brother (Herbert Louis Nelson), sister (Linda Neal) , nephew (Justin Neal) and aunts (Priscilla Breaux), and Evelyn Williams grandmother Louvenia Minnis
She leaves to cherish her memory 2 sisters Marceline Smith, Karla Smith, 1 Brother Don Granger, 5 nieces Sandra Hoskins, Telecia Boydston Nickles, Teresa Boydston , Jackie Boydston-Scott (Like a Daughter)and Melinda Hollinger, 5 nephews Darron Boydston , Daniel Boydston , Benjamin Neal, Herbert Henderson, and Brandon Williams and a host of great and great great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Also left behind is Macy Graham-Kimbrough, who for the last 10 years shared a life of love, laughter, Joy and pain. Macy was like a sister, confidant and caregiver.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Lawrence A. Jones and Son’s Linwood Chapel. Interment Brooking Cemetery.
