Ruby Lee Anderson was born August 23, 1936, to Betty Lee Briscoe in Monroe, Louisiana. She was the eldest of four children.
Ruby departed this life on February 18, 2018, peacefully at Kansas City Hospice House.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Alma Wynters.
Ruby graduated from Richwood High School in 1954 and relocated to Kansas City. Shortly after then, she gave her life to Christ at an early age at Olivet Institutional Baptist Church. Later she became a member of Praise Chapel.
Ruby met Theadus J. Anderson and they were joined in Holy Matrimony in of June 1957. Three sons were born under this union.
Ruby was a dedicated employee of U.S. Safety Company for over forty years before retirement.
She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a strong, quiet, and soft spoken black woman, that was well respected in the community.
Ruby Lee Anderson is survived by her sons: Anthony, Alan (Sabrina), and Dwaine; four grandchildren: Brandon Williams, Tony Anderson (Liliya), Sabrina Anderson, and Dwaine Anderson, Jr.; six great-grandchildren; two siblings, Roy Tabb and Tom Nash; a sister-in-law, Ida Strickland; an aunt, Julia Briscoe; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
Funeral Service for Ruby Anderson will be held Monday, March 5, 11:00 a.m. at the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel.
Interment, Twelve Gates Cemetery.
