MRS. ROSE SPURGEON
Rose M. Spurgeon was born to the union of Sam McClendon, Sr. and Sadie B. McClendon on July 3, 1949. She was preceded in death by both parents, two sons, Eric Davis and Virgil Davis; one sister Addie Moss and one brother, Sam McClendon, Jr.
Mrs.. Rose Spurgeon departed her life on Saturday, July 27, 2019, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Rose worked thirty years and retired from General Motors Fairfax Plant, where she met her best friend and the love of her life, her husband, William “Bill”, who she affectionately called “Honey”.
Rose accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. Once she moved to Kansas City, Missouri she united with Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Wallace S. Hartsfield, Sr. Rose remained a faithful member until her health started to decline.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory the following; husband, William Spurgeon (Kansas City, Charleston, MO); one son, Andre Davis (MO); six sisters, Irene (Thurman) Hardaway, Jerilyn Edmondson, Lorene (Nate) Harmon (all of Kansas City, MO), Rebecca Williams (Lula, MS), Diane McClendon and Brenda Brown (both of Kansas City, MO); three brothers, Robert (Lela) McClendon (Chicago, IL), Lee Edward McClendon and Johnny McClendon (both of Kansas City, MO); she also leaves eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, , cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Watkins Heritage Chapel 4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation 9:00a.m. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery.
