Ray Arvis Anderson was born on March 26, 1935 to Allie and Eliza (Caldwell) Anderson in Milo, Oklahoma. He was one of eleven children born to their union.
Ray attended the public schools in Milo and graduated from Central High School. In 1965, Ray decided to serve his country and joined the U.S. Navy.
In 1968, Ray was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Alice Gotell in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Ray was full of life and enjoyed listening to the Blues among other things.
He was a fifty year member of the Black Angels Motorcycle Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allie and Eliza, two sisters, Hearshey and Birdie, three brothers, J.T., Roy Ed and Alvin; and one step-son, Allen Curry.
Ray Arvis Anderson leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of over fifty years, Alice, one brother, Reverend Theodore Anderson, one sister, Tillie Scott; grandchildren: Vonda Wilson, Quisha Kelley, Keione Owens, and Gregory Jackson, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Marquan and Marquis Kelley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday July 7, 11:00 a.m. at the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel.
Interment, Jehovah Baptist Cemetery, Milo, Oklahoma.
