Pearline Key was born to Haile Selassie Johns, Sr. and Willie Pearl Johns on January 6, 1963 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the only girl with five brothers: Rodel Johns, the late William Johns, Mitchell Johns, Halie Selassie Johns, Jr., and Oscar Johns. Pearline was an insurance professional who love the Lord. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother to her children and adored her grandchildren. She was a beautiful, charismatic, loving and caring woman with a vibrant spirit that left an impact on everyone that she encountered. She professed a hope in Christ throughout her life and was a regular supporter of Christ Our Redeemer AME Church in Irvine, California. She demonstrated this sincerity until the Lord called her home. Pearline Key departed this life on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, California. She was preceded in death by her father Halie Selassie Johns, Sr., her brother William Johns, and her grandson Dedarion Ramon Wallace, Jr. She left to cherish and celebrate her transition into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ the following: Her loving husband of 38 years (together 43 years) Larry Key, her son Eric Key, her daughters LaToya Key and Christina Nkontchu Simeu. Grand Children: Dasia Wallace and Cameron Nkontchu Simeu. She also left behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Watkins Heritage Chapel 4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. KCMO 64130. Visitation 10:00 a.m. Interment Brooking Cemetery.
