Paulette Powell Jackson went to be with The Lord at her home in the early morning of August 24, 2018 in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 72.
Paulette was blessed with a loving family. She is survived by her dedicated and devoted husband of 32 years, Jonathan Jackson; three loving and caring daughters: Pamela Powell, Paula (Joe) Warren, and Bonita Powell all of Kansas City, Missouri; one dear sister, Helen Hatcher of Beloit, Wisconsin; three loyal brothers: James (Gladys) Morris of Kansas City, Missouri, Robert (Barbara) Powell of Chicago, Illinois, and Joe (Bettye) Powell of Kansas City, Missouri; one niece who was like a sister, Bettye (Gregg) Moohn of Woodbridge, Virginia; four amazing grandchildren: Marcus Guein, Jr., Brennan Warren, Jordan Warren and Larryn Warren all of Kansas City, Missouri; five step-children: Jonathan Jackson, Jr. of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Thomas Jackson, Raymond Jackson, Brenda Jackson, all of Kansas City, Missouri, and Stacey Fields of Overland Park, Kansas; Kathy Hunter of Omaha, Nebraska; plus a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; her St. Luke Memorial Worship and Deliverance Outreach Center COGIC family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Verneda Powell and her brother, Willie John Morris.
Paulette was born on September 24, 1945 in Neelyville, Missouri. She graduated from Neelyville High School in 1963 and continued her education for two years at Penn Valley Community College. After moving to Kansas City, Paulette began working for the City of Kansas City, Missouri. She retired from the City in May 1999 with over twenty-five years of service. Paulette was an active and dedicated member of the St. Luke Memorial Worship and Deliverance Outreach Center COGIC.
Paulette was kind, soft-spoken and enjoyed spending time with her family, taking trips and watching her game shows. She had traveled to such places as New Zealand, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New Orleans, Key West and enjoyed a family vacation in April 2018 to West Palm Beach, Florida.
Paulette was valiant and “feisty” throughout her health challenges having been a dialysis patient for eighteen years. Her resilience, devotion to her family, and her firm belief in God supported her path and ultimately gave her peace. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is no longer suffering and is at peace with her Heavenly Father.
Funeral Service for Paulette Powell Jackson will be held Saturday, September 1, 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Memorial Worship and Deliverance Outreach Center, 3100 E. 31st Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64128.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church.
Interment, Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
