Mark Dickson transitioned from this life at 7:45 p.m. on January 29, 2019.  For God called one of his children home.   Mark was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Marian S. Dickson and Claude Harris.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dewitt M. Smallwood, who was the love of his life.   Mark attended and graduated from Westport High School where he played several sports, but his favorite was basketball.  Where he excelled.  He then went to Niagara College in Niagara Falls, New York.  He was an avid cook and his last employer was P. F. Change Chinese Restaurant until his death. 

 Mark was baptized at the age of eleven years old at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Earl Able where he was a member of the Youth Department directed by Lynn Miller whom he loved so much.  He was a member of the Sunday School Youth Department and each year he participated in Vacation Bible School and all the Youth Department activities.  He was a very happy child and was loved by everyone that knew him and would help everyone that needed help.

 He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Marian A. Dickson; father, Claude Harris; grandmothers, Barbara J. Smallwood and Norma Mendez; daughter, Mayana; sons, Malchi, Michael Sexton and Claude Harris, Jr.; uncles,    Larry Gary of Abilene, Texas, Anthony E. Dickson (Suzeann H. Dickson); aunts, Kay E. Chancellar (Joseph) of Akron, Ohio, Delsey Harris, Cleo Harris and Hazel Harris all of Kansas City, Missouri, Jana Williams of Modesto, California; cousins, Larry Gary, Jr., of Abilene, Texas, Anthony E. Dickson, II of Kansas City, Missouri, Carmelita A. Dickson of Dallas, Texas; and a host of family and friends.  A very special friend, Kisha Mitchell.  We loved Mark and he will be missed dearly.  His memories will be forever in our hearts. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Lawrence A. Jones Linwood Chapel.  Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
