Margaret Alcenia Allen, age 95, passed away on March 1, 2018, at home in Kansas City, Kansas.
Margaret was born on July 11, 1922, in Independence, Missouri. She was the eighth child of ten children born to Charley Carter and Lucy Jackson Bush Carter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Lucy Carter, her husband Albert E. Allen, three brothers, Charles James Carter, Lemuel Blake Carter and Arthur Griffin Carter, five sisters, Heloise Mae Allen, Dorothy Blondell Carter, Frances Marcine Harrison, Verna Loriene Canady and Mary Louise Lowe, one grandson, Corey D Allen, three step-children, Estella M Jefferson, Hearold L. Allen, and Arnold E. Allen.
Margaret graduated from Young High School in 1941. She married Albert E. Allen in 1946. They were married for fifty-two years, and to this union were born two children.
Margaret attended Church of God in Independence, Missouri. Many years later, she became a member of 36th and Wabash Church of God, now known as Bethel Family Worship Center. She was an active member until her health failed. She served all her life playing the piano and organ to the glory of God. She played for her congregation, the campground, and various other places. She enjoyed traveling with her son, Bill and his family. She had an insatiable love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was a fierce defender of those she loved and made sure she was capable of protecting them with her trusty bat that was always within her reach. Although she will not need it in Heaven, we thought it would be be-fitting that she takes it with her.
Margaret Alcenia leaves to cherish her loving memory her children: Janice M. Eddy of Kansas City, Kansas, Albert E. Allen (Janice) of Savannah Georgia, and William D. Allen (Denice) of Shawnee Kansas; one sister, Charline L. Carter of Kansas City Kansas; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Worship Center.
