Lillian Ann Smallwood was born on April 11, 1935 in Fulton, Missouri to the union of Roger and Eliza Smallwood. Lillian grew up in Fulton, Missouri and at an early age sang in the choir at Calvary Baptist Church. Lillian graduated from Lincoln High School in Jefferson City, Missouri in 1953. Lillian married Bentley Jaco of Yankton, South Dakota on December 4, 1958 in Sioux Falls South Dakota. The union produced two sons, Bentley Roger and Christopher David. In 1969, Lillian began her career at Sears and Roebuck. After many years of service, she took early retirement and returned to her first career as a dental hygienist. Lillian loved spending time with her brothers and sisters and traveling with her husband. Lillian was also a faithful member of Central Christian Church (Disciples in Christ). Lillian’s parents and brother Billy Smallwood, sister Evelyn Mae Keeys
and husband Bentley preceded her in death. She departed this life on April 15, 2019 at Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care. Left to cherish her memory are: her two loving sons Bentley and Christopher (Tracey) of Kansas City. She also leaves her two grandchildren Devin Jaco and Moriana Jaco, a brother Roger Smallwood (Winnie), sister Nancy Smith, sister-in-law Ruby Smallwood, uncle Henry I. Thomas (Evelyn) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at St. James United Methodist Church 5540 Wayne Avenue KCMO 64110. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery.
