LEON’DRE T. THOMPSON
Leon’Dre T. Thompson-Jones, 20, was born on July 05, 1998 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, UT and Ollie Mae Price, maternal grandfather, Melvin Thompson Sr., and maternal uncle, Melvin Thompson Jr., and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Nettie Jones. Leon’Dre attended elementary and junior high schools in North Kansas City. However, in 2016 he became a proud graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. In years 2013 through 2015 he was an outstanding athlete playing football for NKC Hornets. Leon’Dre was a dedicated worker. He was employed by the Happy Foods Grocery Store as the Stores’ Manager/Accountant. Leon’Dre accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Later, attended Come Up Higher International. He also volunteered as a Youth Counselor at Grace United Church in his spare time. Leon’Dre lived a life that he devoted unselfishly, to his family and friends. He loved spending time with them and taking care of his daughter, whom he loved dearly. He loved cooking, playing games on electronic devices, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He had a smile that would light up a room when he entered it. He loved giving and taking care of others. He was “royalty” and will truly, be missed by many. Leon’Dre is survived by his parents Katrina (Brandon) Lewis of the home. One daughter, Aai’yana L. Jones and fiancée Aaviere Fleming of KCMO. His siblings, five brothers: Kevin Thompson, Terrill Skinner, Brandon Lewis, Dwayne Lewis and Brayden Lewis and three sisters: Breeya Lewis, Tamesha Thompson and Reniya Simmons all of the home. His Grandmother, Sheila Thompson of KCMO. His two aunts: KaTrice Williams of St. Louis, MO. and Melva Thompson of KCMO. His two uncles: Howard Brown Jr. and Harold Brown and a special great-uncle, Melvin Price. His God-Grandparents: Reggie and Sharon Stephens and Verna Robinson of KCMO. His three God-Sisters: T’era Skinner, Teairra Richardson and Keliah Stephens all of KCMO. Special cousins: Mack Brown Jr. and Stacy Brown. He is survived by his father, Loren Gregory Jones of KCMO. Two sisters: LaToya Jones Rozof (Jesse) of Olathe, KS and LaTrice Jones. Four brothers: Loren G. Jones II (Lisa), Larnell G. Jones, Langston D. Jones, Legend D. Brown-Jones of KCMO and Lorenzo A. Jones of Houston, TX., with a host of relatives and friends who loved him dearly. Funeral Services were held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Memorial Church International.
