Lallie Holliday was born on May 28, 1944, in Prairie, Mississippi, to Tom and Callie Holliday.
She departed this life on December 23, 2017.
Lallie retired from General Motors after twenty-five years of service. She also obtained her Locksmith trade through General Motors. She received her GED and Culinary Arts Certificate from AVTS. She loved to cook, socialize, go fishing, give advice, and help others. She also met several celebrities. She loved to travel but most important, she loved her family. Her favorite saying was, “Ya’ll be good to each other. Instead of me giving you the shirt off my back, I will buy you a new shirt.”. Every year she would adopt a general Motor’s family. She was an active member of the United Auto Workers. She was also a member of Zion Travelers Usher Board. Lallie married W.C. Canton and to this union four children were born.
Lallie Holliday leaves to cherish her memories, three children: a son, W.C. Carter (Sharon), and two daughters, Brenda Carter and Ashley Carter all of Kansas City, Kansas; six grandsons; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one sister, Eloise Johnson of Kansas City, Kansas; sisters-in-law; her beloved General Motors family; her Red Hatters family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Service for Lallie Holliday will be held Saturday, January 6, 11:00 a.m.at Zion Travelers Missionary Baptist Church, 3400 N. 29th St. Kansas City, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church.
Interment, Chapel Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
