Jalen Duree Stevens “Nink Nink”, 21, passed away on September 10, 2019 at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Jalen was born on May 13, 1998, in Kansas City, Missouri to Erlandrea Stevens and Dubanic Garlington.

Jalen grew up in Gladstone Missouri and graduated from Oak Park High School in 2017. He was employed with Yang Fang Automotive Production. Jaylen joined Metro Life Church when he was a young child. He enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, reading adventurous books, and watching anime cartoons.  Jalen got excited whenever he saw an opportunity to spend time with his family and friends. His cousins always viewed him as the life of the party. Jalen holds a special place in his grandmother’s (Vanessa) heart as her BEST friend. He is forever Loved and Cherish by her.

He was preceded into death by his Great-grandmothers Stevie Doniphan and Erdie Wright, Godmother Rakeba Byers, cousins Gerran Stone, and Malony McDonald.

Jalen is survived by parents Erlandrea Stevens and Dubanic Garlington, brothers Kalen Stevens and Terrion Dupree.  Maternal grandparents Vanessa Stevens and Edger Wright, Paternal grandparents Shelia and Charles Holmes. Jalen will forever be sadly missed by aunt LaVonda Stevens, uncles Germon Stevens, Edger Drake (Katrina) cousins Tay’Von, and Jay’Von Stevens. He is also loved by a host of siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation Services will be held 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Lawrence A. Jones Linwood Chapel.
