Henry L. Davis Jr. 61, lovingly known as “Butch” was born December 31, 1956 to Henry L. Davis and Camilla Davis Sr. in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father Henry L. Davis Sr. who he loved and admired. Butch grew up in Kansas City, Missouri on Cypress Avenue., where he was a graduate of the Kansas City, Missouri school system graduating from Central High School in 1975.
Butch started his first job as a janitor for the Internal Revenue Service of KCMO. He then worked as a welder and railroads man at Tyson Foods. Henry later started as a journeyman mechanic for Johnson and Johnson Food Equipment for twenty-four years until his retirement in 2004.Butch moved and resided in Kansas City, Kansas until his passing. Butch loved his family with all his heart. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. If you knew Butch, then you know he spent all his time at Wyandotte County Lake. You could find him fishing or just sitting and enjoying nature, the water and the animals; he also would capture the scenic views on video or camera.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Camilla Davis of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Sheila Boggess of Kansas City, Missouri and Brenda McCluney of Kansas City, Kansas; three sons; Brian Elias (Shandi) of Leawood, Kansas, Vincent Davis Sr., (Tyeasha) of Kansas City, Kansas, Martino Darthard of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter Tamara Boswell of Kansas City, Kansas. A special nephew, Marcus Boggess of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at True Vine Baptist Church. Visitation 9:00a.m. Private Disposition
