She was raised in Jonesboro and attended school there.  She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age.  She married Fred Adkins, and from that union she had two sons, Fred and Harold and one   daughter Bobbie.  After his death she later married Roy Mallory in 1938, and from that union was born one daughter, Gloria.

They moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1942.  She graduated from   Madam C. J. Walker’s School of Beauty Culture in 1949 and owned and operated a beauty shop out of her home until about 1970.  She was a member of Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  She joined the church in 1942 under Rev. F. C. Connery, followed by Rev A. L. Johnson and worked faithfully until her health failed.  She was the chairman of Esther Circle, director of the young adult choir, chairman of the Las  Estrellitas girls group and was secretary of the Sunshine district Baptist convention for a number of years.

Mrs. Mallory was an excellent cook and her home was always the place for family gatherings.  She always did what she could to help others and loved to travel and have fun.  At Hidden Lake she still was playing bingo and dominoes, at 103.
