Gerald Harvey was born on July 26, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas to Frank and Willa Harvey.
Gerald departed this life on May 29, 2018.
Dr. Harvey, a devoted son, was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Willa Harvey.
Dr. Harvey was an Army brat, born on a military base in Texas and spent his early childhood abroad in Germany. Upon their return to the states, Gerald was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri public school system, where he attended Central High School and graduated from Southeast High School in 1966. He went on to Kansas University’s Pre-Med Program, graduating in 1970. He graduated from St. Louis University’s Medical School and completed his Medical Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Columbus Ohio.
Dr. Harvey worked for over forty years delivering hundreds of babies with Prime Health and HCA Midwest. He was also employed in private practice under the Multi-specialty Group of Kansas City.
Dr. Harvey spoke German, was a Certified Scuba Diver, book Writer and World Traveler. He loved animals, motorcycles and was known for his sense of humor, jokes, and storytelling. His favorite line was – “I’ve got a million of them”.
Dr. Harvey received constant care and support throughout his life from his companion, Brenda Mack, as well as the Mack Family.
Dr. Gerald Weston Harvey leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Michael and Shaun Tyler; two daughters, Akara Ingram and Raven Forrest; nine grandchildren; an aunt; an uncle; Godchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Service for Gerald Weston Harvey will be held Saturday, June 2, 12:00 p.m. at Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel.
Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery.
