GEORGE VON DAVIS
George Von Davis was born November 9, 1951 in Kansas City, KS to the late Jodie Davis and Lenora Lee. He was the second of five children born to this union. He was baptized at Metropolitan Baptist Church, Kansas City, Kansas as a young boy. George was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, KS. He attended Douglass Elementary School, Northwest Jr. High School and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1969. He later married Vallire Jones in 1970. There were two sons born to this union, Tremain and Terrill Davis. Dion Mitchell is George’s oldest son born prior to his marriage. George worked for the Ford Motor Company for more than 20 years. He later worked as an independent contractor specializing in carpentry until his health prevented him from continuing to doing so. He lovingly passed down and taught all of his carpentry skills to his youngest son Terrill. They worked side by side for years and now he is a very successful contractor. George LOVED playing games, especially Dominoes & Bid Whist. He was very competitive and always talked trashed. Mostly he loved to make people laugh. Some of George’s most treasured relationships were with his Grandchildren whom he loved deeply. George was called to rest on Saturday, August 17, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jodie Davis and Lenora Lee. He will be forever remembered with love by his sons, Dion (Evelyn) Mitchell of Dallas, TX, Tremain Davis of Kansas City, KS and Terrill Davis, also of Kansas City, KS; brother, Jodie (Frankie Mae) Davis, Southwest Ranches, FL, sister, Marguerite Taylor of Port Saint Lucie, FL, sister, Lois (Mark) Davis-Leath of Port Saint Lucie, FL, brother, Quintin (Andrea) Davis of Baltimore, MD; four granddaughters and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts uncles and other family members and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Timothy Baptist Church 2400 Garfield Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas 66104. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Private Disposition.
