Franklin Eugene Richardson was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 1941. In 1950 his family moved to Detroit, Michigan where he grew-up. Frank attended the Detroit public school system. In 1959 after attending Northwestern High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. Frank served in the Army for 6 years, 9 months, and 5 days and received an “Honorable Discharge in November 1965 at the rank of Sergeant with the classification of Master Parachutist. While in the Army he attended Aerial Delivery and Aerial Transportation school, and completed leadership training courses at the 7th Army, including the Silver Star for Bravery award for his actions in Viet Nam War. When discharged he was serving as S-3 Training NCO. After discharge Franklin returned to Kansas City, Missouri where he still lives. He attended the University of Missouri and in February 1966 began his career with the US Postal Service. While employed at the Postal Service, Frank served as Recording Secretary, and as Representative for the ill and/or injured employees for the Mail Handlers Union. In 1985 he was promoted to the position of Regional Quality of Working Life Coordinator for the Postal Service in May 1997 after 37 years of service. Franklin was the Sergeant of Arms and Honorary Commander of Post #149 American Legions and member of Alexander/Madison Chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers.
Franklin married the former Beverly Campbell who is Past Grand Worthy Matron of Missouri. The Richardson’s are the proud parents of five children, two boys, Royal (Kelly) Richardson and Warren Richardson, and three girls, Courtney Richardson, Willetta (Joes) Richardson-Andrews and Angelica (Sean) Allen. They also have 14 grandchildren, Latisha Richardson, Marlena Richardson, Royal Richardson Jr., Mialynn Porchia, Joseph Richardson, Alexander McDole Richardson, Vanessa Lynn McDole Richardson, Warren Ross, Thomas Key, Terrance Key, Trenton Richardson, Sean Allen Jr., James Spencer, Yatonda Butler and 16 great grandchildren. The Richardson’s are long time members of Concord Fortress of Hope Church of Kansas City, Missouri. Frank’s Masonic career began with his initiation into Eureka Lodge #170 in September 1977. In December 1986, he was elected Worshipful Master of Eureka Lodge# 170. His Masonic affiliations and offices are: Mount Oread Chapter #6 Holy Royal Masons; Far West Commandery #3 Knights Templar, Kansas City Consistory #7 Scottish Rite Masonry; Commanders of the Rite (West); Elect Ladies Chapter #15 OES; Past master Eureka #170; Past District Deputy Grand Master District #2; Past President Board of Directors Masonic Hall K.C., Past Liaison between Grand Lodge and NAACP. On July 10, 1997 Franklin E. Richardson was elected by the craft to the highest Masonic Office any on can possibly obtain, Grand Master of Masons, Jurisdiction of Missouri.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Concord Fortress Of Hope Church 11050 Longview Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation 9:00 a.m. A Mosaic Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. (one hour before service). Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, November 11th in Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Road Leavenworth, Kansas 66048.
