Eloise Holiday Johnson was born on July 13, 1930 in Prairie, Mississippi to Tom and Lallie Holiday. She was the 3rd child out of 15 children. She slipped quietly from this life into everlasting life on January 21, 2019. At an early age Eloise knew the desires of her heart. In her hometown of Prairie, Mississippi, she met and married Willie Johnson and to this union six children were born. In 1954 she moved to Kansas City with her family to start a new chapter in life. Shortly after relocating, she focused on being a wife and a mother to her family. During her life she was able to establish her independence while watching her children grow and begin their own families. Eloise was a member of Zion Travelers Missionary Baptist Church and was a part of the Usher Board. As the children grew, so did she, entering the workforce at Rugo Plastic. Once she established herself at Rugo, she quickly found her passion becoming a foster grandparent. She took pride and joy in her work ethic and helping those in need. She was proceeded in death by seven brothers; Percy, Tom, Roosevelt, George, DH, William and Frank. Along with three sisters; Clintera, Mary, and Lallie. Eloise leaves to cherish her memories of four children; a son, Lindsay Johnson (Lisa) and three daughters, Dorothy Gilmore (Edward), Eloise McGhee (“Lucky”), and Linda Starr (Arthur) of Kansas City, KS. During her lifespan she had thirteen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Forest Grove Baptist Church 1417 North 9th Street KCK 66101. Visitation 11:00A.M. Interment Chapel Hill Cemetery.
