Ella M. Kirtley
Ella Mae Kirtley was the only child born to Houston and Elizabeth (Quebec) Johnson on April 4, 1935 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Ella spent her early years in Broken Bow and relocated to Kansas City, Missouri with her Mother as a child. She attended the Kansas City public schools and graduated from the Lincoln High School class of 1954. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H.C. Kirtley, two children Deronda Kirtley and Katrinka Kirtley. Ella was married for over fifty years to James H.C. Kirltey and to this union four children were born; Kevin, Corrine, Deronda and Katrinka. Ella was employed as a Certified Nurse’s Aide III for over eighteen years at St Luke’s Hospital. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed shopping and sewing. She was a longtime member of Bethel AME Church. She was also a member of Les your Mot club and the Beautiful woman of the World. She leaves to cherish her precious memories one son, Kevin Kirtley and Corrine Henderson both of Kansas City, Missouri, five grandchildren Autumn Sage, Corrin Halcomb, Curtis Henderson, Eugene Halcomb and Brian Halcomb; six great grandchildren, one great- great grandchild Ava Henderson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Linwood Chapel 1800 East Linwood Blvd. KCMO 64108. Visitation 10:00 a.m. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.
