Mr. Dwight Johnson was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 7, 1963, to the parents of Mr. Frank Johnson and Mrs. Mattie Logan.
He was preceded in death by his father as well as his step-father, Mr. Lee Ray Logan.
Dwight was an extraordinary son, brother, father and friend with a genuine heart. As a believer in Christ, his goal was to live according to God’s Word and to do right by all. He retired from the Navy in 2003 and returned home from his Navy Base in California to live near and spend more time with his family.
Dwight loved fishing, the Kansas City Chiefs, and grilling. He also enjoyed traveling with his friends and spending time with family. He loved his children dearly and always made sure to let them know that.
Mr. Dwight Johnson departed this life on September 6, 2018.
Mr. Dwight Johnson leaves behind his two children: Mrs. Stacia McCray (Johnny), Ms. Lakeshia Johnson; eight sisters and eight brothers: Ms. Darlene McGruder, Ms. Delores Howard, Ms. Glendean Peterson, Ms. Mary Hardy, Ms. Ernestine Jones, Ms. Talonda Logan, Ms. Camila Logan, Ms. Doilnella Williams, Mr. William Ballard, Mr. Michael Johnson, Mr. Wayne Johnson, Mr. Stanley Johnson, Mr. Ray Johnson, Mr. Milton Johnson, Mr. Brandon Ray Logan, and Mr. Desmond Logan; two grandchildren, Ms. Sage McCray and Mr. Jace McCray and a host of other nieces and nephews, lifelong friends, neighborhood friends, extended family and his companion Jackie Ferdinand.
Funeral Service for Mr. Dwight Johnson will be held Thursday, September 13, 12:00 p.m. at the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel.
Interment, 2:30 p.m., Leavenworth National Cemetery.
