DOROTHY JEAN SMITH OBIT
Dorothy Jean Smith was born on May 7, 1945 in Kilmichael, Mississippi to Early George and Lorine Baskin Williams and transitioned from this life on October 25, 2019. Dorothy was preceded in death by both parents, Early George Williams and Lorine Williams, three brothers Joseph Williams, Fletcher McCaskill and Miles Williams. Dorothy grew-up in Mississippi and then moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1957. In 1965 she became a proud graduate of Lincoln High School, “Home of the Tigers.” Dorothy married Leroy Smith in 1963 and was happily married for eleven years. Dorothy worked for the Ford Motor Company for sixteen years and retired in 1995. Dorothy had several hobbies. She enjoyed shopping and cooking but her true joy was when she shared time with her family. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Loraine Gay, Lenora Smith and LaRhonda Smith; sons, Kenneth Smith, Dean Smith and Lorenzo Smith; brothers Billy Williams, Sylvester (Brenda) Williams, Moses (JoAnn) Williams, Henry Williams, Jimmy Williams, Joe Willie Williams and Andrew Williams; sisters Ruth Davis, Claudine Blake, Mae Pearl Slaughter, Effie Holland, Mary Hargrove, Cora Fayne, Brenda Smith, Michelle Williams and Mary Alice Turner and a host of family and friends. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Pentecostal C.O.G.I.C 6300 Swope Parkway Kansas City, Missouri 64132. Visitation 9:00 a.m. Interment Twelve Gates Memorial Garden.
