Darian Del’Shawn Jackson was a healthy baby boy to the proud parents of Violet Jackson and Aaron Edwards born on July 1, 1997. At first sight of his arrival everyone loved him as he had the brightest smile, deepest dimples a head full of hair and the spirit of an angel. Darian transitioned from this life on November 29, 2018. He is preceded in death by grandmother Ruby Walker; aunt Cherri Parker and cousin Shelly Peppers. From the moment Darian was born he formed an immediate bond with his grandmother Loretta Lewis, his aunts Chandra and Adrean Harvey who helped raise him and taught him the fundamentals of respect and love. As earliest as a toddler Darian can and is remembered for being a great kid that may have made mistakes but had the heart of gold and respected each and every one of his elders. As Darian grew into his own; he began to find his way around the world and resembled his father in every which way possible. Darian formed a bond with his dad that was unbreakable and irreplaceable and no matter what happened in his life he had the highest regard and respect not only for his father but his mother as well. As Darian began to grow into a teenager, he formed a love for sports specifically basketball and idolized Labron James as he was his favorite basketball player and loved to make Monkey Bread as it was his favorite food. Darian played basketball for Jayhawks and Coach Looney in the initial part of his teenage years. During his freshman year of high school Darian attended Van Horn High School in Independence Missouri where he played football and basketball. Darian was always a team player and loved playing basketball with his stepdad Richard Robinson outside of school and his league and oh was it ever competitive! Darian also loved to get his little sisters involved Zariah and Ne’Vaeh Gilmore along with his stepdad and play two on two half court and of course his stepdad always won. Darian can be remembered for being a very stubborn kid however he always had the utmost respect towards authority and adults. Darian had a very good relationship with his dad Aaron Edwards who he considered to be his best friend and was in his life from the moment he was born. Although they may not have always agreed he always appreciated the relationship he had with his father. Darian also shared a bond with his mother Violet Jackson that can never be broken and no matter how hard life ever got she never turned her back on her son and for that he appreciated her the most. Darian would always reach out and say mom you told me so and he always promised to do better and change his life. Darian was able with the love and support of his family to complete high school where he graduated from Grandview High School back in 2016. After completing high school Darian was a good kid out in the world just trying to find his was with a heart of gold that would do anything for anybody. Darian grew more loving towards his family as he got older and began to see the life lessons that his parents were always trying to teach him as a young man and he cherished the relationship he had with his sisters; Tawana Edwards, Daikari Edwards, Ke”Shauna Shurn, Zariah Gilmore and Ne’Vaeh Gilmore and his only brother Aaron M. Edwards Jr; step siblings Daivon Johnson and Daija Johnson. Darian was known for being competitive and the one always willing to fight for the underdog and show loyalty and love to those he loved the most. Darian was also known for being vert goofy and the life of the party. Anywhere Darian was there was always a smile on his face and everyone else’s! Darian loved all his family and got along with everyone despite what was ever going on. Darian will always be remembered as being a loving child who always gave his mother the utmost respect, a loyal friend, very competitive, a young man who loved, idolized and worshiped the ground his father walked on and a spirit that loved making everyone around him happy.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Interment Blue Ridge Cemetery.
