DIANE P. McCONNELL
On August 2, 2019 at 7:42a.m. God called one of His angels’ home, Diane Peters McConnell. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. This mother of seven died at the age of 78. She lived an amazingly full and loving life. Diane was born November 30, 1941 in Lexington, Virginia to Harrington and Mildred Howard. When she was a teenager, she moved to Chicago and from there, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri and that’s when she met her husband, Phillip McConnell. Diane had a passion for birds, her grandchildren, and her church. She was an “outgoing, happy, and loving person who could put a smile upon anyone’s face. She loved people and she loved to be around people. No matter what you were going through, she could make your feel at ease. Additionally, no matter what, she enjoyed taking care of her family. There was nothing in this world that she cherished more, than her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Diane was preceded in death by her mother and father Mildred and Harrington; sister Ruth Elaine Sumpter and brother Harry Howard. Her precious memory will be cherished by her children Helen Gee, Keith Cowan, Ernest James Usher Jr., Alesia Diane Usher, Nicole Sinclair, Sean Carter and her “baby-girl” Stephanie Diane Peters; grandchildren Crystal Peters, Anthony Roberts, James Roberts and Alexander Peters; great-grandchildren Brien “Boss-Man” Myers, Briana (Miracle) Myers, and Jail “Lil’Man) Scott III. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel 1800 East Linwood Blvd. Kansas City, Missouri 64109. Visitation 9:00a.m. Private disposition.
