Delbert “Dale” Alan Jones Sr., age, 56 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away April 1, 2019 at Research Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
He was born August 27, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri to Emma Jones (Taylor) and the late Wallace Jones. He was the fourth of five children. On November 22, 1998 he married Sharon Hall.
Dale graduated from Paseo High School in 1980. He was employed as a certified nursing assistant for a few years, retiring in 2002.  He did volunteer work at Jones’ Automotive in Kansas City, Missouri. Later, Dale was baptized and received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 2017 at Victorious Life Church under the leadership of Bishop Mark Tolbert.
Dale, or more affectionately known as Cherry Red, was an avid football fan and he loved his hometown team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

He also was a pet lover, having had dogs and several cats that he cared for. Music was a passion for Dale and you could regularly hear his music bumping on the 4900 block of Agnes. While Dale was known to be boisterous and strong willed, he had a gentle side that was not seen by most.  He was a natural problem solver and creative when it came to resolving difficult situations.

He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who can celebrate the fact that he is finally at peace with his Heavenly Father.
He was preceded in death by his father Wallace L Jones, stepfather William Henry Taylor and brother Norman "Leroy" Jones.
He is mourned by his wife Sharon Jones and mother Emma Taylor (both of Kansas City, MO). He is also survived by one brother; David Jones Sr. (Kansas City, MO.) and two sisters; Ruby Witherspoon (Minneapolis, MN);  and Aletha Jones (Fridley, MN) ; one daughter Sharron Fletcher, two sons Delbert Alan Jones Jr and Darrell Alan Jones Sr.  as well as 11 grandchildren, close friend Dawn Martin and a host of nieces and nephews.
