Constance J. Chambers was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 11, 1938 to Charles Austin and Beatrice Imogene Shaw. Her father was a Methodist minister, so she moved often. She was living in Topeka, Ks. When the Bishop from the Methodist Society sent her father to pastor the White Oak Methodist AME Church in Independence, Mo. She attended Lincoln High School KC, Mo. in her freshman and sophomore years. With school integration, she attended William Chrisman High School where she graduated. She was united in holy matrimony January 29, 1956 to Robert L. Chambers, Jr. to this union three children were born.
Connie worked as a lunch attendant at Seven Oaks Elementary School and Central Jr. High School where her children attended. She enjoyed being a Vanda Cosmetic Consultant for several years. She retired from Truman Medical East-Lakewood where she served as a cafeteria attendant and later in housekeeping services.
As a preachers daughter in the Methodist Church, Constance (informally known as ‘Connie’), accepted Christ at an early age. As a married adult, she became a faithful member of St. Stephen Baptist Church under the pastoral care of the late Rev. Dr. John W. Williams; singing in the Inspirational Choir. She later joined Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ under the pastoral care of the late Rev. Earl Abel. Here Connie was a faithful member who attended church every Sunday and sang in the Mass Choir until she no longer could. Connie was a very grateful recipient of the in-home Communion provided by the Palestine Church Deacons and visits from church members until her death.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her three children: Cynthia L. Chambers, Janice Chambers Cotton (Shelton) and Curtis A. Chambers. Daughter-in- love: Lowynta Chambers. Four grandchildren: Crystal Saunders, Corey Tyler, Charles Chambers and Chad Chambers. Four grandchildren-in-love: Carsyn, Lashawna, Anastasia and Jayla. Three great- grandsons: Caison Phillips, Daylen Phillips and Tyler Phillips. One great-grandson-in-love: Kai’Shaun Reid. First Cousins: Peggye Williams Mills and Dickey Shaw. Faithful God-daughter: Sherry Byers. Mom’s “Village”: Marian “Mickey” Dodd, Jackie Watts, Donna Peyton, Portia Jones and Amy Wedgeworth.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ 3619 East 35TH Street KCMO 64128. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Interment Longview Cemetery.
