Charles W. Atkins, was born September 8, 1946, to the parents of Lacey and Emma Atkins in Hermondale, Missouri.
Charles departed this life on Saturday, March 3, 2018.
He was preceded in death by both parents and two siblings.
Charles accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Hermondale, Missouri. He graduated from South Pemiscot High School in Steele, Missouri in 1967. After graduating he moved to Kansas City, Missouri. He was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture for forty years and later retired in January 2009.
Charles enjoyed riding his bicycle, skating, bowling, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Charles W. Atkins leaves to cherish his memories thirteen siblings: Lorene Johnson, Arlene Atkins, Patsy Lewis (Charlie), all of Blytheville, Arkansas, Carolyn Williams of Fort Worth, Texas, Douglas Atkins, Dan Atkins, Gloria Kuykendall, Annette James (Joseph) and Linda Atkins all of Blytheville, Arkansas, Thomas Atkins (Carla) of Olathe, Kansas, Martin Atkins (Dorothy), Mavis Atkins, and Paula Howard all of Blytheville, Arkansas; one uncle, Isaiah Elijah; one aunt, Elreatha Willis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service for Charles W. Atkins will be held Saturday, March 10, 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Living God, 2611 Vine Street.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church.
Interment, Brooking Cemetery.
