Beulah Scott was born January 22, 1946, to the late Isaiah and Carrie Johnson Abraham in Mansfield, Louisiana. She was the eighth child of ten children.
Beulah departed this life May 4, 2018.
She was preceded in death by siblings that are gone, but never forgotten, brothers, Andy Abraham and Isaiah Abraham both of Oakland, California, and one sister, Lula Abraham Freeman of Kansas City, Missouri.
At the age of twelve, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She was baptized and united with the Mary Evergreen Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Sam Stills in Grand Cane, Louisiana. She later relocated to Kansas City, Missouri and was united by letter with the ZionTravelers Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Reverend Lonnie Milbon, Kansas City, Kansas, Mt Calvary Baptist Church, Pastor Mack Freeman and presently Mt. Transfiguration Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Alphonso Davis in Blue Springs, Missouri. During that time, she served as Secretary/Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and Mother of the Church.
Beulah was a graduate of DeSoto High School in Mansfield, Louisiana. She received a Degree in Business from Spaulding Business College in Shreveport, Louisiana and a Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Missouri. Beulah retired August 3, 2000 in the field of Administration (Vice Principal) after thirty plus years with many Awards and Accolades, and an “Excellent Record” from the Kansas City, Missouri School District.
A young bride of nineteen, she married Charles Richard Simmons, Sr (deceased by drowning). To this union one son was born, Charles Richard Simmons, II. She then married Reverend Herman Scott and they remained married until his death.
Beulah Pearl Abraham Simmons Scott leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted and loving son, Charles R. Simmons, II; four loving sisters: Delores Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri, Zula Hunter, Carrie Mitchell, and Sarah Crump all of Mansfield, Louisiana; two loving brothers, Curtis Abraham (Mildred) of Huntsville, Alabama and Sammie Abraham (Edith) of Houston, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
Funeral Service for Beulah Pearl Abraham Simmons Scott will be held Friday, May11, 10:00 a.m. at the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel.
Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery.
