Reverend Alvin J. Brown departed this life suddenly on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City Missouri. He was born on September 19, 1945, in Konawa, Oklahoma to Tyberia Brown and Rosco Buriss.
He attended Grayson Elementary in Konawa. At the age of 7 he moved to Oklahoma City with his family. He attended Page Elementary School, F.D. Moon Middle School, and Douglas High School. After high school, he joined Job Corps, he later joined the Civil Air Patrol. Alvin had a passionate heart and showed his generosity by helping others.
He met Mary Louise Minter in Kansas City, Missouri while traveling for Walton Construction Company, they fell in love and later married. Mary Louise was his wife until death. He served as the assistant and interim pastor at Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church for several years. He retired from Walton Construction after 23 years of dedicated service. He later worked part-time for Clean Slate LLC Construction Company and worked as a superintendent of Vazquez Commercial Contracting his until death.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mary and Frank Brown, two brothers; Tommy Edward Brown and Truman "Lucky" Brown. Alvin leaves to morn in his passing, wife Mary Louise Brown, Mother; Tyberia Brown, Sisters; Annette Brown McNeil, Diana Jackson-Dindy both from Oklahoma, Step-Children; Rodney Bradley, Eric Bradley, Tamika Bradley-Cooper, of Kansas City, Missouri, 4 Grand-children, 1 great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Interment Forest Hill Calvary Cemetery.
