Ms. Yolandra Brockman

Obituary Yolandra Diane Brockman was born in Kansas City, Kansas on October 30, 1969 to Isaac Brockman and Margaret Jean Randle. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Eugene, and Dorothy Lasley, her two older brothers, Reginald Lynn Washington, and Timothy Washington, and grandson Julius Hines. She attended the Kansas City, Kansas USD 500. She was a graduate of Wyandotte High School, along with an associates degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College in Accounting. Yolandra was baptized at the Eighth Street Baptist Church as a child. She participated in the Sun Beams Youth Organization, Red Circle, Upward Climb, Sunday School, and both the Youth and Teenage choirs. She was the proud mother of nine children, six sons and three daughters. She was employed in the banking industry of Commerce Bank from 1994-1997 & Direct Security Services in Office Management from 2005-2009. Yolandra was a very talented artist as she could print calligraphy as well as any professional, she had a knack for stylish dressing, braiding and cornrowing hair that could match any hairstylist. She was active in her community as a participant with 4H through K-State Research and Extension & President of Residents Association for Kansas City Kansas Housing Authority from 2009-2013. Further community activities include summer lunch programs & organizing Toys for Tots for Christmas gifts to families in the community. She was instrumental in organizing and rounding up children in her neighborhood and making sure they attended Vacation Bible School for seven years. She was a friendly outgoing young lady who never met strangers and had a yearned to help make a difference with other mothers in her neighborhood. As a youth she was adopted as a little sister by Lillian Bittaye through The Boys and Girls Club. She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Cebastian Thibodo, Cameron Thibodo, Devonte Hines, Deron Hines, Demond Hines, Diamond Hines, Destiny Hines, Dakota Hines, Kennedy Hines, grandchildren: Deron Hines ll, and Karmoni Jones, mother: Margaret Randle, one brother Anthony Brockman, niece: Armani Brockman. She also leaves aunts, uncles, cousins from families of Brockman’s & Lasley’s. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct 2, 2021 at 11 am at Eighth Street Baptist Church 1420 N. 8th St KC,KS.
