WILLIS A HUGHES

Obituary Willis Andre Hughes was born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 1, 1963 to Mrs. Sarah Hughes-Justice and Mr. Willie Hatton. He was the eighth of ten children. His father and a brother preceded him in death. Although his real name was Willis, many people called him Will. Willis was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri public school system. Willis professed a hope in Christ at an early age. He joined the Oak Grove Missionary Church under the leadership of John Oxley. Willis was joined in holy matrimony to Lashel (Niecy) Fletcher-Hughes. There were no children from this union. Willis was a great man. He was admired and truly respected by his fellow coworkers, peers, friends and family members. Willis enjoyed music. He loved listening to old songs as well as the latest ones. Willis loved to sing, and oh yeah he could sing. Will, Troy (one of his older brothers) and cousin Carlos (Collieboy) would sing together often. Will’s voice was truly a blessing and so was he from God. Will loved his mother, there were times when he would go over to his mother’s home and cook her breakfast before he went to work. Will brought his mother fish dinners on Friday after work. His mother looked forward to the dinners, because she loved fish. Will was a great son, brother, husband, dad, and grand-dad. Willis Andre Hughes quietly slept awat at home on May 4, 2020. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Deniece (Niecy) Hughes; his mother, Sarah Hughes-Justice; His Children: four daughters, Olivia King, A’ breanna King, Andrea Hughes, Charlee Garcia; one son, Andre Hughes; four grandchildren: Kalena & Keyvon Hendrix, Ryanne Garcia Love, Zaiair Mumphrey, two stepdaughters, Pesavia Brown, Raven Brown, 1 step grandchild, Armon Brown, all of the MO & KS area; His siblings, eight brothers: Thomas Hughes (Barbara), Troy Hughes (Rosemary), Michael Hughes, Donald Hughes, Ricky Hughes, Lester Hughes (Chrissy), all of the MO area; two sisters: Melvie Tobias (Arthur), St. Louis, MO, Renita Crumpton (Terrence), Aurora, CO. His aunts: Ora Powell-Baskin, Irene Dogan, Dorothy Frazier, Ollie Collins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services were held at 11:00 A.M.
