Mrs. Willie Floyd Brooks

Willie Floyd Brooks was born on September 11, 1933 in Denmark, Tennessee to Lacy Greer and Elizabeth Greer. She was preceded in death by sisters Zelma Ellison (Earnest Ellison), Lenola Bond (George Bond), H. Marie Young (Floyd Young) & brothers James Greer and Clifton Greer. Willie Brooks was educated in the Denmark Public School district in Denmark, Tennessee. Later, Willie graduated with a Bachelor’s of Education from Lane College and began her career at Menorah Medical as a Dietitian. She later transitioned to the Kansas City Missouri School District as a food service worker, where she retired. After retirement, Willie devoted her time to what she loved most her family. She cared deeply for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always opening her home and heart to anyone who needed it. For many, "Grandma" was a second mother, a safe place and source of wisdom, love and comfort. Willie Brooks was married to Johnny Brooks Sr. on June 3, 1956 and celebrated 69 years a marriage. Their union was built on faith, prayer, and unconditional love — a true testament to God’s design for marriage. Willie lived her life as a quiet example of grace and strength. She had a graceful spirit, a giving heart, and a deep, unwavering faith in God. Whether she was cooking Sunday dinner, sharing words of encouragement, or praying for those she loved, she did everything with care and compassion. She departed this life on September 28, 2025 at her home with the love of her family surrounding her. She leaves to cherish her memory husband Johnny Brooks Sr., sons Dale Brooks (Sharon), Michael Brooks Sr. (Mable), Kenneth Brooks; daughters Janette Brooks, Cassandra Brooks, and Betty Brooks, Tonia Brooks (Johnny Brooks Jr); grandchildren Derek Brooks (Mandy),Eric Brooks ,Antoine Brooks (Kiku), Tyler Brooks, Michael Brooks II, Raymond Brooks, Lionel Anderson, Brandon Reed, Aaron Reed, Raylena Fayne (LeAnthony), Santese Brooks, Santele Brooks, Jasmine Brooks, Ariana Reed and Briana Reed; eight great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. She can now rest reunited with her son, Johnny Brooks Jr. (April 2019) in heaven. We love and miss you both. Funeral services Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00am at Canaan Worship Center. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 9:00am-11:00am at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Lawrence A. Jones & Sons. Condolences may be shared on our website.
