Mr. Wayne E. Drew

Obituary Mr. Wayne Ellis Drew (58) was born January 22, 1963, to Mr. & Mrs. Jesse and Irene Drew in Kansas City, Missouri. He was proceeded in death by his father, Mr. Jesse Drew; two brother’s, Mr. Gregory Drew & Mr. Charles Gannaway. Wayne received his education in the Kansas City Missouri School District at Lincoln High School and continued to finish his studies at the Metropolitan Community College, in Kansas City, Missouri. Wayne cherished his family, and he was an amazing and remarkable father and grandfather. He took pride in his fashion of suits, shoes, and cologne. He spoke his mind and was always blunt with his words, but most definitely had an exceptionally large heart. His love for sports and the Kansas City Chiefs were known by all that he knew. He enjoyed maintaining his lawn, barbecuing, and cooking for his family on many of occasions. He worked over (15) years for S.P.X. Cooling Technologies by day and was a bartender in his community, for locations such as Jimmy “D’s” Steakhouse, Lafferty’s lounge, and The Green Duck Lounge until his retirement. Wayne was married to Ollie B. Jefferies-Drew on September 10, 1988; and to this union there were (3) children born: Joe Jacobs, Jessica, and Wayn’Shawn Drew. Wayne loved the Lord, and he had a personal relationship with him. He departed and received his wings, on August 11, 2021, in his peaceful home along with his loved ones gathered around him. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife and long-life friend of 33 years, Mrs. Ollie B. Drew, his mother, Mrs. Irene Drew; three brothers: Robert Earl Bailey, James Bailey Jr. (Judy) and Tony Drew; one sister, Sandra Lewis-Jones; his children: Joe Jacobs, Jessica Drew, Wayn’shawn Drew and Sentrayle Drew. His grandchildren: Keynan Beard, Derron Horne, Kevin Conner, Eur’Mone Washington, and one grand-daughter, Drew’Bella Shirley all of Kansas City, Missouri. A special friend: Ms Lequlisha Taylor. along with a large host of family located in Kansas City, MO, Georgia, and Ohio, including: cousin’s, nephews, nieces, and friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021, 11:00am at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the chapel.
