Mr. Warren C. Kelly

Warren Calvin Kelly, affectionately known as “Butch,” entered eternal rest on August 28, 2025, at The Madison Senior Living in Kansas City, MO, surrounded by his loving family. Warren was born on May 27, 1947, in Fayette, Missouri, to Marie Shipley-Kelly and Harry Kelly. He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, and by his beloved sisters, Melba “Toast” Gordon and Diana Kelly. He attended Lincoln Public Schools in Fayette and graduated from Fayette High School in May 1965. Warren later continued his education at Columbia College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Warren was the devoted father of Gloria and Tracy Crump. After working various jobs, he found his professional home in 1972 at Southwestern Bell, where he began as a technician and worked his way up to Supervisor and eventually Manager of Installation and Repair. After 30 years of dedicated service, he retired—only to be called back two years later. He proudly added six more years to his career before retiring a second and final time. Warren was a man of deep faith and dedication to service. He joined St. Andrew United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. John Marshall and was a faithful and devoted member for more than 30 years. His contributions to the church were many—he served as a Lay Leader, preaching the Word on several occasions, as Church Treasurer, a member of the Food Pantry Committee, and as a teacher of a finance class that helped many gain financial wisdom. It was at St. Andrew where Warren met the love of his life, Virginia Mulwee-Kelly. In a beautiful and heartfelt moment, he proposed to her in front of his church family. They were united in marriage on August 26, 2000. Through this union, he gained a son, Clarence Mulwee, and an honorary daughter, Shawn Wesson—adding more love and joy to his life. Warren was known for his calm spirit, his sharp wit, his deep wisdom, and his sound financial advice. If he felt it necessary, he wasn’t afraid to give a firm but loving lecture—always with the intention of helping others grow He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Virginia Mulwee-Kelly; daughters, Gloria Crump (Sam) of Kansas City, MO; and Tracy Crump (Bill) of Oak Grove, MO; honorary daughter, Shawn Wesson of Raytown, MO; son, Clarence Mulwee (Joyce) of Raytown, MO; sister, Corinna (Godi) Weslau of Ingleheim, Germany; brothers, Steve (Hellen) Kelly of Lynnwood, IL; and James (Nerlene) Kelly of Fayette, MO; Warren is also survived by his five brothers-in-law, James (Dana) Mulwee of Jefferson City, MO; Delmar Mulwee of Phoenix, AZ; Gary Henderson of St. Louis, MO; Warren (Dorothy) Henderson of St. Louis, MO; and Craig (Cheryl) Henderson of Fontana, CA; His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Joshua (Jada) King; Andrea Crump; Trevon (Susan) Crump; Monae Crump; DeAndre (Courtney) Mulwee; Raven Mulwee; Lance (Jenny) Wesson; Kimberly (JaVon) Griggs; and Michael Nolasco; and great-grandchildren, Ary’onna; and Jailen Crump; Ryan “Alex” Lindsay; Jaxson Brune-Crump; Lia; and Nova Mulwee; Blaze Mulwee; Logan; and Landon Wesson; and Jasiah Griggs; He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces; nephews; cousins; church members; former colleagues; and friends—each carrying a piece of his wisdom, laughter, and love in their hearts. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church 4601 Benton Blvd. KCMO 64130. Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery.
