Obituary Vernice Marie Wilson-Campbell was born on August 29, 1946, to the union of Mr. Alvin Campbell and Magnolia Jones in Kansas City, KS. Later the family moved to Kansas City, MO at the age of five. She was preceded in death by both parents, one brother, Jerry Campbell, three sisters, Joyce Ann Campbell, Marilyn Jones and Marcella Baldwin, one grandbaby, Courtney Shannon and one great grandbaby, Brandon Campbell, Jr. Vernice attended the Kansas City Public School District. Vernice was employed at Superior Toy Factory for many years. She also worked at the Sheraton Suites, until she retired. Vernice attended Friendship Baptist Church and became a member throughout the years. Vernice was all about family. She would do any and everything if she could for them from; feeding and giving them a place to stay. She was truly the backbone of the family. She was like no other, to love her you had to know her because her love was different and pure. If you needed her she was there. Her smile was affectionate, her beauty was immaculate. The glue to our family, the last sister. Vernice was very nurturing, lived her life to the fullest, till the very end. She was still feisty! She loved to have fun with family and watch everyone socialize. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sons, Maurice Campbell, Paul Campbell(LaTonya) and Derrick Jones; her only daughter, Tamisha Wilson; three brothers, Allen Todd, Dwayne Jones(Marsha) and Darryl Jones; ten grandchildren, Brandon Campbell(Randlyn), Cordell Thomas, Jevonie Campbell, Justin Campbell, DeAndre, Asia, Kobe and Tosha Campbell, Carlton Smith and Russell Brown, Jr.; five great grandchildren, that includes, Harper Campbell being her special grandbaby she stole her whole heart;her two special nieces, Shannon Jones and Lillian Brown; a bonus daughter and granddaughter, Yolanda Anderson and Kimberly Johnson-Powell; a abundance of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Home Going Service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022, 2:00pm at the Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1pm-2pm at the chapel.
