Mr. Steven Trotter

Steven Trotter was born on December 16, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri, to loving parents, Levi and Bernice Trotter, who shaped the foundation of his life and faith. From an early age, his presence was undeniable. Steven carried a quiet strength, a sharp sense of humor, and a loyalty that left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and other loved ones who now welcome him home. Steven received his early education in the Kansas City Public School system and graduated from Westport High School. His dedication in the classroom, along with his achievements in sports, earned him a scholarship to attend Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he studied for two years before returning home to begin his career. Steven built a solid and respected professional life. A retiree of MGE/Spire, he was known for his dedication, commitment, and leadership. He also co-owned and operated Trotter Trucking, Inc. with JoAnn Harrison during their many years of marriage. Later in life, Steven married Annette Trotter, who lovingly cared for him and stood by his side through his final years. Their time together brought renewed meaning and support to his life, and she honored him with unwavering devotion and compassion. A man of faith, Steven attended Christ Temple of Conway, Arkansas, along with other congregations throughout his life. His relationship with God remained steady, and his faith carried him through every season. Steven was a devoted father who worked tirelessly to support his children. His family meant everything to him, and he took pride in guiding, shaping, and raising them. His legacy lives on through his children: Tanisha Mendoza-Johnson, Steven Levi Trotter, Andre Johnson, Monique Hamilton, and Ashley Trotter, who will continue to carry forward the values he instilled in each of them. He is survived by his loving wife, Annette Trotter; his children; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy; his Siblings; Carmon Totter, Levi Trotter, Willie, Ruth McFadden, Sandra Trotter, and Ronnie Trotter; extended family; and a wide circle of friends who became family over the years. To know Steven was to know a man who loved his guns, cowboy boots, big trucks, Fourth of July fireworks, football, the Kansas City Chiefs, summertime grilling, and any opportunity to two-step. His laughter and presence left a lasting impression on all who met him. His life made a difference, and his impact will never be forgotten. Steven transitioned from this life on December 2, 2025. Though his race is complete, his story continues in every shared memory, every lesson passed down, and every life he touched. His legacy remains strong in the hearts of all who loved him. Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Watkins Heritage Chapel 4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. KCMO 64130. Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery.
