Obituary Honoring, Celebrating & Remembering the Life of our Beloved Sherri Renee' Hayes Biggs Everyone comes into the world with a specific life's journey to embrace, maneuver through and complete and in doing so, we leave footprints along the way. Those footprints are shining examples of our love and kindness towards our family and friends. Along our life's journey we learn to develop compassion for others, humor, inspiration in addition to joy and oftentimes we display our faith. After the Good Lord gathers our loved ones to Himself, we definitely can look back and without a doubt clearly see the bright trail they left behind. The footprints that our beloved Sherri Renee' left us was full of hope and it certainly invites us all to follow it. Sherri Renee' Hayes was born in the autumn of 1959 at Kansas University Medical Center on Saturday, October 17, 1959, to parents Spulghon Thomas Hayes, Jr. and Dollie Greene Hayes. She arrived into the world making her presence known with her beautiful blue eyes. Mark Anthony Hayes, the first-born child to this family was just a year older than Sherri Renee' and would become a loving protective big brother. Later after many years Sherri Renee' would become the big sister to three additional siblings--- Jeffrey Brown, Charles Thomas Hayes and Brittany Rose Hayes. Sherri Renee' Hayes Biggs received her eternal wings on January 5, 2023, at the age of 63 and fell asleep in Jesus at 2:00am while a patient at Hoeger House Rehabilitation facility located on the campus of Olathe Medical Center. Sherri Renee' attended Linwood Elementary and Paseo High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Santa Monica High School in Santa Monica, California and attended Santa Monica College. Sherri Renee' received Christ at an early age and became a Believer while attending Christ Temple Pentecostal Church (now known as Victorious Life Church) located in Kansas City, Missouri and was baptized there. While a member at Christ Temple Church Sherri sang in the choir. Sherri Renee' gave birth to only one child, Marquise De' Leon Anderson in 1984. From 1990 to 2002 Sherri was married to William D. Biggs. After briefly working at Lake City Ammunition, Sherri began her professional work career as a unit secretary at St. Luke's Hospital. She would become an account service representative and held the position at St. Luke's until she retired after approximately 26 years of service. Sherri quickly became bored after retiring from St. Luke's Hospital and went back to work part-time as a switchboard operator at Research Medical Center where she worked for many years. She was also employed briefly as a receptionist at Overland Park Rehabilitation Center. Sherri Renee' held an administrative office position at Olathe Medical Center from 2020 until she became ill in 2022 along with a part-time medical receptionist position at Kansas University Medical Center. For those who knew and loved our feisty and beautiful Sherri Renee' could say that her diva-like personality was always apparent. You might even say that Sherri was not a shy person, and she often wore her emotions on her sleeves. Regardless to who she might be talking to if you asked her a direct question, she always had a colorful direct answer. Sherri Renee' was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, faithful friend, along with being a loyal coworker of great integrity; a team player, hard worker, responsible and most of all reliable. Sherri shared good humor, much laughter and big smiles with her coworkers. She and many of the people she worked with shared a special bond. Every year Sherri would order numerous boxes of Girl Scout Cookies to share with her friends at work. Her coworkers at Research Medical Center have ordered those same cookies to distribute to the nursing staff at Olathe Medical Center that care for Sherri Renee'. During the time Sherri worked at Research Medical Center she did her best to coerce all of her close coworkers to leave St. Luke's Hospital after she retired and come work with her at Research Medical Center. Sherri Renee' stayed busy and led a very active life. She had a passion for shopping which included being a collector of elephants. She took pride in her wardrobe and always had the latest handbags along with stylish shoes and boots to match. She also loved interior decorating and her home was adorned with her favorite oriental artifacts. When Sherri wasn't working she managed to plan trips often to Southern California and she went on a vacation with a large group of family and friends to Hawaii. Even though Sherri Renee' Hayes Biggs finished her earthly journey much too soon, she finished strong! During her final days she would talk to the Good Lord daily and was at peace when He gathered her to Himself! Sherri Renee's spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, friends & coworkers forever because "Love" gives us memories and our "Faith" gives us the promise of the Resurrection. Our beloved Sherri Renee' was a special gem! She was a pillar of strength and hope along with being a gift of enduring, unconditional love to her family, friends and coworkers. Before Sherri Renee' transitioned into heaven she made sure that a special gift was in place for all who loved her; a gift that we all will treasure for a lifetime: "Memories of a Beautiful Life!" Those who will always have fond memories of our beloved Sherri Renee' and miss her dearly are her parents, Spulghon Thomas Hayes, Jr., of Los Angeles, California and Dollie Greene Brown of Grandview, Missouri. Her son Marquise De' Leon Anderson, and two granddaughters, MaRhae Leeann Anderson and Niyara Celeste Anderson all residing in Kansas City, Missouri. Her brothers, Mark Anthony Hayes, Sr. of Kansas City, Missouri, Jeffrey (Connie) Brown of Kansas City, Missouri, Charles Thomas Hayes of Pasadena, California and sister Brittany Rose Hayes of Pasadena, California in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, aunts & uncles, cousins, other extended family along with numerous friends and coworkers. Immediate family members that preceded Sherri Renee' into glory are her paternal grandparents, Spulghon Thomas Hayes, Sr. & Margaret Iona Hayes, her maternal grandparents, Mr. Raymond L & Mrs. Virginia Greene, Sr. and maternal Step-Grandfather, Mr. Olen P. Card, Sr. in addition to other extended family members. A visitation for family & friends will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 10 am - 12 noon at the Linwood Chapel. Private Disposition.
