Sheila Marie (Brown) Penn

Obituary Sheila Marie Penn was born on July 4, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri to William and Odella Brown. She was the youngest of seven children. She was preceded in death by her father, William Brown and mother, Odella Brown, brother, Joe Brown, brother-in-law, Gregory O’Guin and her eldest son, Paul E. Brown who all resided in Kansas City, Missouri. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a member of the choir. She loved to sing praises to our Lord and Savior. One of her favorite songs was “Every Praise To Our God”. She received her education at East High School. From there she pursued her career in Environmental Health and Hospitality Services at Swope Ridge Geriatric Center. She took pride in all the jobs she did and was very humble, kind hearted person. She finished her employment as a cook for the Hickman Mills School District. She was married to Michael Atty, from that union six children were born, Cherie Russell, Roshawn Hudson, Michael Brown, Victor Brown, Ray Atty, and Maurice Atty. She then married Calvin Kirby and from that union Adriane Kirby was born. She entered her final union with Mike Penn who helped raised her youngest daughter Adriane Kirby. They still remained close friends even after their divorce. Anyone who knew Sheila would describe her as a humble, sincere, compassionate, and a sweet loving woman. She truly enjoyed helping raise the next generation and the sacrifices she made were priceless. She cherished all her loved ones. She went home to be with Lord on December 18, 2018. Sheila Penn leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, four sons, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and three brothers,William Brown, Edward Brown, Aaron Brown and two sisters Gloria Malone and Joyce O’Guin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family. She will always be loved and deeply missed. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Linwood Chapel 1800 E.
